Here’s a video extolling the importance of the freight industry to the Australian economy at the same time as publicising the work of the Australian Logistics Council. Some great points are made here about just how important freight is to our wellbeing.
Road freight is an extremely important part of of the picture, more so than anywhere else in the world. Apparently, Australia uses three times more road freight, measured in tonne kilometres, per dollar of GDP than the average OECD nations. These are the sort of figures we should be quoting publicly on a regular basis, hammering home how important it is to get trucking right.
Are they listening? Will the message get through to the general population, or even the pollies? The important thing is to keep trying to get the message out there, well made video like this from the ALC are an important part of the process.
