An event this week was held by Linfox to launch its partnership with the National Association of Women in Operations (NAWO). The company invited women from across the business to the event celebrating the decision by Linfox to become a member of NAWO earlier this year.
Based in Australia, NAWO aims to develop and support the pipeline of women working in operational functions as they progress through to leadership and executive roles. It is the peak body championing women in operations.
According to NAWO, its vision is a world where women and men can be equally represented and valued at every level. NAWO has set out to inspire and support women to reach their full potential and achieve their chosen career goals. Its mission is to encourage organisations to create inclusive workplaces, to attract and retain the best talent and reach their chosen objectives.
According to NAWO’s National Director, Louise Weine, women only represent a fraction of employees in the transport sector, with the majority of these in administrative and support roles.
The launch celebrated Linfox’s shared commitment to inspire and drive positive change in gender diversity.
Linfox Australia and New Zealand CEO, Annette Carey, said she is a proud NAWO ambassador, “Through NAWO, our female employees have access to professional development, leadership programs and networking events.”
