Megatruckers sale

Jon Kelly has been a divisive character and also a public figure in the trucking industry. One of the final acts of his meteoric rise and fall took place this week as the famous equipment which starred in the Megatruckers TV series was sold off at an auction in the Heavy Haulage Australia yard in Brisbane. This is to be followed by a further sale of more equipment in Port Hedland, next Tuesday. In situations like this no-one comes out as a winner, although prices for some of the equipment auctioned off meant there were bargains to be had.

Kelly’s abrasive nature and the way the business presented itself made for good TV but ultimately contributed to the downfall of a large, in heavy haulage terms, operation.
