Now is the time for anyone involved in the trucking industry to nominate a truck technician apprentice for the 2019 Cummins Technology and Maintenance Conference Scholarships. These are awarded to three winners will get to attend at no cost to them selves the Australian Trucking Association’s Technical and Maintenance Conference to take place at Kangan Institute’s Automotive Centre of Excellence in Melbourne’s Docklands.
“The Cummins TMC Scholarships are an initiative that provides young heavy vehicle apprentices with the experience and tools needed to develop industry skills and knowledge,” said Geoff Crouch, ATA Chair.
Awarded to three heavy vehicle apprentices, the scholarships provide the opportunity to be hosted at the TMC, taking part in educational sessions and practical workshops relevant to their training and career, while building professional networks.
“Not only will the scholarship winners be hosted at TMC, they will each be paired with an experienced industry mentor for support and assistance in making the most of their conference experience,” said Geoff. “This is a unique opportunity to learn from some of Australia’s most knowledgeable trucking industry professionals.”
Three nominees will be selected as winners of the 2019 CumminsTMCScholarships, which include:
- full registration to the 2019 Technology and Maintenance Conference including social events and VIP seating at the Castrol Vecton GalaAwards Dinner
- return airfares andaccommodation
- pre-conference tour of Cummins Melbourne facility and Cummins merchandise pack
- they will get assigned a conference mentor
“The scholarships are an exclusive opportunity for heavy vehicle apprentices to get a valuable insight into our industry,” said Mike Fowler, Cummins South Pacific’s director of engine business.
Nominations for the 2019 Cummins TMC Scholarships close on September 13.
