With a new Dealer Principal and Service Manager onboard, and a body fabrication section up and running, Brisbane Iveco is now a one stop shop, well placed to offer a complete turn-key package to its customers. Paul Matthei takes a closer look inside the dealership.
The old cliché ‘Time is Money’ that has been bandied around for ever and a day seems nowadays to be more apt than at any other time in history. With the rampant march of technological development increasing exponentially in recent years, getting things done in the most efficient and timely manner has become paramount.
For Brisbane Iveco, it’s all about partnering with the customer and offering a top-shelf range of services, everything from truck rental, service and repairs, body building and accident repairs, spare parts and, of course, new and used vehicle sales.
According to newly appointed Dealer Principal, Karl Hancox, it’s an exciting time to be heading up the business.
“I’m lucky to have had a predecessor who set the foundations and we have a very strong plan right through to 2030,” Hancox reveals.
Part of that plan involves relocating the business to higher ground a few km up the road in 2020, an important move considering the flood prone state of the current location.
“Each of the managers has been involved in the plan for the dealership, our goal is to create a futuristic dealership with room for everyone to grow. The dealership has been here in its various forms for around 40 years so it’s probably a good time to build an all-new facility – it’s what our customers and staff deserve.”
As the conversation continues, Karl is keen to elaborate on an aspect of the company that helps provide a total transport solution for customers. The rental division has been running for about 6 months.
“In our rental business we run a mix of vehicles including Iveco Daily and Eurocargo and International Pro-Star,” says Karl. “The Pro-Stars are all prime movers, some with hydraulics, some with sleeper cabs. It gives people the opportunity to try out a Pro-Star before they buy. We have a diverse range of trucks which works in well with our sales department as they can show a potential customer what we have to offer.
“We plan to slowly grow the rental fleet as time goes by, it’s part of the one-stop-shop that’s designed to help our customers who have vehicles serviced in the workshop to keep on the move while that is happening.”
