Stolen Mexican truck with radioactive material recovered

A truck stolen on Monday carrying radioactive material has now been found. The incident caused serious concerns because the material could possibly provide an ingredient for a “dirty bomb”.

The truck was reportedly found on Wednesday close to where it was stolen.

The truck was stolen while taking radioactive cobalt-60 from a hospital in Tijuana to a radioactive waste-storage centre.

The media reports suggest the Mexican Police believe it was stolen by common thieves rather than terrorists.
