The Road Safety Remuneration Tribunal has extended the time for submissions on its second annual work program

The Road Safety Remuneration Tribunal has issued a Statement extending the period of time in which interested persons may make a submission in relation to the second annual work program.

Written submissions must now be made to the Tribunal by 4 pm Tuesday, 8 October 2013.RSRTCAPTURE

Further written submissions commenting on the submissions received must be made to the Tribunal by 4 pm Tuesday, 22 October 2013

Under Section 18 of the Road Safety Remuneration Act 2012 (RSR Act) the Road Safety Remuneration Tribunal must prepare an annual work program identifying the matters the Tribunal proposes to inquire into with a view to making a road safety remuneration order in relation to any or all of those matters.

The matters identified may be any or all of a sector or sectors of the road transport industry, issues for the industry or a sector of it and practices affecting the industry or sector of it.
In its first annual work program, the Tribunal proposed to inquire into the following sectors of the road transport industry:

  • retail sector
  • livestock sector
  • bulk grain sector
  • interstate long distance sector, and
  • intrastate long distance sector.
