It was with great sadness that the team at Diesel News heard the news of the passing of Peter Langworthy, who passed away this week after a long battle with cancer.
Peter served the commercial vehicle manufacturing industry in Australia for many years, most recently in his role as Managing Director of Dana Australia from 2010 until 2017.
In his time at the helm of Dana in Australia, he was responsible for a company-wide transformation. From supplying components to the Ford plant in Campbellfield, Victoria, Dana became a more targeted supplier of axles, differentials and other components to the truck manufacturing industry and other automotive applications. The transformation saw the operation move from a number of older facilities to one large, purpose-built plant and headquarters in Keysborough, in Melbourne’s east.
Peter was well known and respected for his contribution in management roles at Kenworth and Iveco, and his role as the President of the Heavy Vehicle Industry of Australia (HVIA).
Our thoughts are with his family at this time, and he will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
