Volvo Trucks has anounced that the first electric trucks delivered by the company are now working as garbage and distribution trucks for the waste and recycling company Renova, and the logistics company DB Schenker and partner haulier TGM, all operating in Sweden.

Ever since it was unveiled last year, we’ve been keen to try Scania’s optional clutch on demand (available on all models) which adds a clutch-pedal to the normal two-pedal Opticruise system. For low-speed manoeuvring or reversing you simply press the reinstated clutch pedal down, whereupon CoD activates an electrically-operated screw actuator to feed in the clutch—in other words, the driver effectively overrides the Opticruise auto by opening the clutch themselves.
4461The announcement of the winner of the International Truck of the Year has the prize awarded for the first time for a truck made outside of Europe. The new F-Max, produced by Ford Trucks in Turkey, has been elected International Truck of the Year for 2019 by a jury of 23 commercial vehicle editors and senior journalists, representing 23 major trucking magazines from throughout Europe.
